Located in Shankevani, Georgia, this work is an ongoing project that strikes a perfect balance between modern minimalism and the timeless appeal of natural materials. The design embraces the rugged beauty of stonework, which adds warmth and texture, contrasting beautifully with the clean, linear forms of the structure. Expansive glass elements invite natural light and frame the surrounding landscape, connecting the indoors with the outdoors in a seamless flow.
The project’s planning was shaped by the client's lifestyle and specific needs. Understanding that the client found the stairs challenging for daily use, the first-floor layout was designed to prioritize comfort and accessibility. The bedrooms were moved to the back for privacy, with each room opening onto its own small private garden. Meanwhile, the kitchen and living areas were placed at the front of the house to take full advantage of the magnificent views. From here, the client enjoys both the expansive landscape and a stunning 15-meter-long pool, complete with a fire pit along its edge.
To respect the client’s desire for more space and privacy, the pool house, intended for guest use, was moved to the second floor, ensuring that guests wouldn’t intrude on the client’s everyday spaces. The second floor also boasts a fantastic mountain view, creating an exceptional retreat for visitors. Additional rooms, such as the gym and sauna, were thoughtfully located on the -1 floor, ensuring all functional areas are well-organized and appropriately distanced from the primary living spaces.
The entire design incorporates soft, understated lighting to highlight the beauty of the materials and structure, maintaining the simplicity of the project while ensuring the spaces feel refined, functional, and welcoming.
